In Exodus 5:2 we read, “And Pharaoh said, “Who is the LORD, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, nor will I let Israel go” (NKJV).
Sadly, it has been the case since the beginning, that leaders who do not know the Lord have given God’s people grief. It is interesting that Pharaoh began his denial of Moses’ request with the question, “Who is the LORD? It was an arrogance and ignorance (AI) that was soon to be remedied.
Unfortunately, many in our culture suffer from the same arrogance and ignorance. The ruler of this world has them singing his song and marching to his drum. Satan declared, “I will be like the Most High” (Isaiah 14:14 NKJV). Yes, many believe themselves to be their own god. They think they are the masters of their own destiny. Here is the Lord’s response to such foolishness. Psalms 14:1 asserts: “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God’” (NKJV). There you go. God calls those who would deny His existence “fools.”
Psalm 19:1 proclaims, “The heavens declare the glory of God” (NKJV). Romans 1:20 expounds, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse” (NKJV). Paul warns, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them” (Romans 1:18-19 NKJV).
So, what’s the point? Obviously, there is a God, and you are not Him! Most, who claim Christianity, would say, “Duh!” Whereas one may feel such a statement to be ludicrous, elementary, and superfluous, the reality is that many “Christians” challenge that truth daily. Romans 1:28-32 plainly articulates that those who do not retain God in their knowledge, practice ungodliness, or approve of those who do, are deserving of death. That should give one reason for pause.
I am just going to say it: “God is a conservative!” He is pro-life, pro marriage, anti LGBTQ…, is for fiscal responsibility, and capitalism. He sets boundaries and establishes borders. He is for law and order and calls those who enforce the law His servants. He provides for the poor through prosperity and charity, not redistribution. If you find any of this difficult to believe, you don’t know your Bible! I did not say, God is a Republican! It is not a party, a government, or politician of any political persuasion that will save America. It is in returning to His Word and submitting to His truth. I pray “Christians” get a clue in 2022!
